Job Description
Function of Position
Adjunct faculty prepare and teach courses in the department, develop new educational materials, and assist with the assessment of student learning, as appropriate. Classes may be assigned at the Brighton and/or Downtown Campus (or other sites, as appropriate). Adjunct faculty report to the chairperson of the Automotive Department.

Examples Of Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subjects
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject Encourages students' participation in class activities
- Identifies learning objectives and evaluates student performance based on objectives
- Prepares course syllabi and outlines
- Establishes and maintains an organized and disciplined classroom environment
- Provides students with assistance and guidance
- Adheres to all College and department policies
- Provides timely submission of all required paperwork/information as required by the department or College
- Responsible for adhering to the College Code of Conduct
- Responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative College environment
- Responsible for maintaining technological competencies utilized by the College
- Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college
- Commitment to professional growth
Required Qualifications
- Earned associate's degree of applied science in Automotive Technology from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an automotive technician
- ASE Certified
- Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus
- Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs
- Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college
- Earned bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Prior teaching experience
- Knowledge of, or experience in implementing a variety of teaching strategies
- Evidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skills
