Position OverviewThe Director, Marketing Data Strategy will be responsible for driving the vision and implementation around marketing data requirements enabling the digital transformation journey at Autodesk. As the data strategy leader, you will be leading a team of data engineers and strategists responsible for laying out the foundation for data driven marketing. You will be responsible for understanding the data needs/data literacy of various marketing stakeholders and connecting it to the enterprise data strategy. As a leader, you will develop strategy for the marketing data architecture including the business data layer design, structure, data integrity, and tools management. The role will drive the unification of business and IT perspective around data asset management for marketing across the marketing technology execution stack.
Responsibilities
- Be an active and strategic voice into the Data Analytics and Automation team, driving our core marketing data vision forward and ensuring continuity in terms of data availability, accessibility, and quality
- Foster proactive communications between business and IT teams to improve effectiveness and value of information strategy and architecture processes to the business
- Conceptualize, design, and drive overall strategy, methodology, and roadmap for the processes, systems, tools, and capabilities required to produce and maintain marketing data assets and the business data layer
- Synthesize the needs of key market-facing stakeholders into clear roadmaps and execution plans
- Handle inevitable disruptions to and artifacts in data processing
- Grow the data assets to support the changing dynamics of marketing execution
- Maintain deep business understanding to provide strategic insight and direction regarding the use of technology in support of data aggregation, information access, and analytical processing
- Develop intellectual capital to document how business is run from a data perspective
- Continue to evolve data strategy based on emergence of new technology, new competitors, artificial intelligence, and alternative sources of data
- Provide the leadership and environment necessary for building high performance work teams that collaborates with enterprise stakeholders
- Ensure the team understands how the information strategy activities that they are responsible for align with information management life cycle and drives digital marketing transformation
- Evangelize the strategy, gain support, drive implementation, and ensure value is being derived through adoption of the laid-out data strategies
- 5+ years' experience leading and managing medium to large-scale teams within Data & Analytics areas
- Masters Degree in information and/or data architecture to include strategy, planning, and delivery oversight
- Knowledgeable in tools used to identify and manage unstructured data
- Knowledgeable in risk associated with data management and mitigation approaches
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven problem solver with business savvy
