Crisis Clinician - Atlantic Health System | NJ, US
Overview
Newton Medical Center, a member of the prestigious Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a PD Crisis Clinician in the Crisis Dept.
Responsibilities
Crisis assessment & intervention/stabilization within hospital & community for all ages.
Biopsychosocial assessment.
Assessment of mental health & substance use status & associated risk to self, others & property.
Determination of intervention & service/level of care needs (including screening for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization), related referral & linkage.
Other functions include: case management, communication with involved healthcare professionals & insurance companies, answering crisis hotline phone calls, responding/intervening with agitated patients/visitors, critical incident stress management, mobile outreach in community for crisis assessment/intervention/stabilization/follow-up, consultation & collaboration with ED & medical floor staff.
Thorough, timely clinical documentation & record keeping
Education
Qualifications
Current screening certification preferred.
If applicant does not possess certification, then they must be able to attend an 8-week training provided by state within first year of hiring.
A candidate must have excellent documentation skills and basic computer knowledge.
A candidate must be able to work in a high acuity setting and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A candidate possesses the ability to assist in physical interventions.

- Masters degree in related field w/ 1 yr. + clinical exper. pref.
